The Irish National Teachers’ Organisation today presented representatives from Focus Ireland with a cheque for €11,901.91. The cycle was one of a series of events to commemorate INTO’s 150-year anniversary.
INTO and the Catholic Primary School Management Association (CPSMA) met yesterday, 11<sup>th</sup> June 2018 to discuss issues of common concern for our respective memberships. There was a substantive and lengthy focus on the issue of workload, in particular for principals.
The rise in housing costs has been dramatic in recent years. To allow ICTU to more effectively lobby Government on this affordability issue, it is surveying young members (under 34 years) on their housing costs.
A process is currently underway, to address salary scale issues for post-January 2011 entrants, between public service unions and the DPER. INTO President Joe Killeen called on the government to make clear that funding will be committed to commence the long overdue resolution to pay inequality.
The National Council for Special Education (NCSE) seeks applications from suitably qualified teachers to work as a Visiting Teacher (VT) for children who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing or as a VT for children who are Blind / Visually impaired.
